- proportion (n.) a part in relation to the whole
– The proportion of women graduates has increased in recent years.
- rate (n.) the cost per unit of a good or service; the motion or change that happens in a certain time
– The unemployment rate held at 9.6% last month, the Labor Department said Friday.
- sequence (v.) a series of related things or events, or the order in which they follow each other
– The questions should be asked in a logical sequence.
- descend (v.) to go or come down
– Our plane started to descend.
- circulate (v.) go around; go from place to place or person to person
– A fan may circulate the air in summer, but it doesn’t cool it.
