- context (n.) the situation, events, or information that are related to something and that help you to understand it
– True knowledge implies understanding and an ability to put facts into a context.
- criterion (n.) a standard that you use to judge something or make a decision about something
– That is the criterion or standard by which the arbitrator is to be guided.
- devise (v.) to plan or invent a new way of doing something
– Other researchers will certainly devise alternative ways of measuring influence.
- formulate (v.) to develop something such as a plan or a set of rules, and decide all the details of how it will be done
– But I formulate the ideas and work with the chefs to realize each of the dishes.
- ignore (v.) refuse to take notice of or acknowledge; disregard intentionally
– He can’t get them to leave because they ignore him as they disrupt his business.
